Chocolate Mold Treats
Don't they look delicious
Don't they look delicious
I have a large amount of Chocolate Molds and to be honest I rarely use them for baking. I've used them more for my craft work when using clay etc! So today, I thought I'd share how I use them for creating chocolate treats, we all need chocolate treats at some point lol.
I have some lovely molds for most occasions like Halloween, Summer time and dragonflies etc. But I love these beautiful butterflies shown above.
Here's some more that I have and all you need is melted chocolate. Try and buy decent chocolate to work with but any will do... And purchase decent, not flimsy molds too!
Melt the chocolate over a pan with hot water, don't over fill the pan or you'll end up burning yourself if it bubbles over. Use a long handled t/spoon if you have one, I know the pound shops sell them.
Scoop some chocolate up and tap it into the molds. This helps ensure that you get the chocolate into every nook and crevice. Then use a Spatula to scrape gently over the mold, taking all the excess chocolate off and just scrape that back into the dish. It will be fine and will re-melt itself for further use. I actually use one of those Pallette knives that artists use, like these shown below!
When you've done all the molds you need, place them on a flat surface, something like a chopping board and place them into the fridge until the chocolate firms up again! I'd leave them in for a good hour. Next, remove them from the fridge, take hold of one of the molds and using both hands gentle pull/bend the sides backwards to release the chocolate. Slowly and very carefully, peel them from the molds and place the chocolates onto a cold tray.
I wish someone would come up with the idea of designing a gadget to hold chocolate shapes once they've set, you know, like a chcolate plate rack but in miniature lol. Oh, maybe I can do that, as I once designed our very own paintbrush holder shown here below! Very useful tool...
