Delicious Apple Roses

These are so easy to create and so yummy to eat. All you need are 2 apples, sliced thinly, one tbsp of sugar, 1/2 tsp of Cinnamon and  water.

Add the apples, water, cinnamon and sugar to a saucepan, heat on full power then turn down to simmer once it bubbles. Once the apple slices have softened, remove the pan from the heat. 

Next, you'll need some short crust pastry, (I used Filo for mine, created them the same way as if I'd used the shortcrust), shop bought will do fine. Cut 1.5 inch strips and place the apple segments like this along the strip. Fold over the edge at the bottom of the apple slices, brush some beaten egg across the pastry and then start from one end to the other and roll the segment strip into a rose. Place them in a bun tin and sprinkle them with brown sugar.

Bake on Gas mark 7 for approx 20 minutes, they may need a little longer, but that's okay! 

You can eat them as is, or do what I do and add a scoop of ice-cream and a shake of Icing sugar, Now enjoy!
