Old English Butterfly Buns

Old English Butterfly Buns

These are delicious and of course the children love them! First of all, in a medium mixing bowl, add 4oz Butter, 4oz Sugar and blend together until creamy in texture and its slightly gone pale in colour.

Then add 3 large eggs, one at a time and blend until the mixture is soft and creamy. Next: Add 6oz self-raising flour and mix together with a tsp vanilla essence.

Add the mixture to buns cases, I'd use one desert spoonful to each one. Bake on Gas mark 7 until golden brown. Remove from the oven and leave them to go cold!

Now to mix the butter cream! Add 2oz of butter to a dish and then 2 cups of icing sugar. Blend well until smooth and creamy, I'd test it as well to make sure its how you want it to taste. You can add more of the butter or the icing sugar at this stage, depending on which you think it needs most, if any...

To make up the buns to look like butterflies, all you have to do is to cut the tops in a circle and slice the tops in half, lay to one side while you jam the middle of the buns and only put a little jam in them and spread it around the cut area. Next, add a good scoop of the butter cream and replace the wings as shown above.

Now Dust the buns with some Fairy dust (icing sugar really lol) and they're ready to eat, now don't they look lovely to eat eh!
