Yummy Egg Custard Tart

I used a shop bought Flan base, they are quick and easy and being ready made, you have more time to start on the custard!

Ingredients:

6 Egg Yokes
100g Sugar
25g Plain Flour
25g Cornflour
600ml Boiling Milk
Sprinkle of Nutmeg


Add the eggs and sugar together and whisk until light and fluffy. Add in the flour and cornflour and stir in well, whisking would be better.

Now bring the milk to the boil in a saucepan, once the milk has boiled, you'll need to add a little to the mixture and quickly whisk it so that it stays smooth. Then pour the rest of the mixture (while whisking) into the pan of hot milk and bring it back to the boil once more! 

Continue to stir the custard until it thickens and then pour it straight into the flan base and leave to cool Now you can sprinkle some nutmeg in the middle if you like. Once its cooled enough, cover it with clingfilm and place it in the fridge for an hour, you can eat it cold or warm it up when you're ready to eat it.

There are two kinds of custard tarts, one you make with flour which I have done here so that you get a texture that is like the thick creamy custard, or you can make the one with a texture like quiche! We prefer this one as its more filling and tastes more like a pudding lol.
